The adidas x Bad Bunny partnership has been reshaping streetwear since 2021, when Puerto Rico’s trap and reggaeton king, Benito “Bad Bunny” Martínez, first blended music, heritage, and fashion into a powerful cultural statement.

Now, in 2025—fresh off the success of his latest album Debí Tirar Más Fotos, a mix of jíbaro rhythms, plena, and reggaeton—Bad Bunny is back with a sneaker that pushes his personal narrative even further.

From The First Café to the Ballerina

The adidas and Bad Bunny collab began with the Forum Buckle Low “The First Café” back in 2021. What followed were drops like the Campus, the Response CL, and multiple Gazelle Indoor editions inspired by Puerto Rican iconic spots—San Juan, Santurce, and El Yunque. Earlier this year, the duo surprised us again with the Ballerina: a sneaker infused with dance energy and island spirit, aligned with the growing “sneakerina” trend.

Inspired by the pink salt flats of Cabo Rojo

The latest, the Bad Bunny x adidas Gazelle Indoor “Cabo Rojo” (JS5052), draws inspiration from the pink salt flats in Cabo Rojo, located in Puerto Rico’s southwest. The vibrant water hues are reimagined in a Wonder Clay/Wonder Aqua/Ash Pink colorway—a visual tribute to the island’s natural beauty and to Bad Bunny’s deep-rooted connection to his homeland.

Every design element carries emotional and narrative weight: from the semi-translucent midsole that evokes the humid coastal landscape, to the “adidas para Bad Bunny” branding on the insole. Layered suede panels in varying shades of pink, plus crisp white synthetic leather details, add depth and dimension.

More than just sneakers, the “Cabo Rojo” is a vessel for storytelling, another chapter in the adidas x Bad Bunny collaboration that fuses culture, emotion, and design with every step.
