Since their first partnership in 2006, the connection between Nike and Patta has only grown stronger, becoming one of the most influential in Air Max history. Founded in the heart of Amsterdam in 2004, Patta started out as a sneaker boutique but has evolved into a multidisciplinary label representing sneaker culture in its truest form. Their work goes beyond design, and it’s deeply rooted in art, music, and community.
Together, the two have released over a dozen collabs—including six now-iconic versions of the Nike Air Max 1 x Patta, known for introducing the wavy mudguard and redefining how we interpret Nike’s archive. They’ve also worked on capsule collections merging sport and style, like the Nike x Patta Running Team or their joint drop with FC Barcelona, where streetwear meets elite football.

But the Nike x Patta collaboration goes far beyond the product. Nike also supports the Patta Academy, an educational platform designed to create real opportunities for emerging creative and entrepreneurial talent. A project that perfectly reflects the values both brands stand for: empowerment, community, and inspiration for the next generation.

Nike Air Max 90 x Patta “Waves”
This summer, the collaboration returns with the Air Max 90 x Patta “Waves,” a bold reinterpretation of Tinker Hatfield’s classic. The silhouette comes in two colorways, “Cyber” and “Sapphire,” combining —respectively—neon green and bright blue accents over grey, black, and white bases. Featuring Patta branding on the tongue, a lenticular panel at the heel, and a solid structure, the model continues the visual language established with the Air Max 1s from 2021, bringing back that iconic wavy effect.
Once again, Patta x Nike proves that great collaborations go beyond hype—they build legacy. Because when heritage, design, and cultural vision come together, the result is more than just a sneaker. It’s streetwear history in the making.
